San Antonio has a $5 billion in unmet infrastructure needs, this isn't just about quality of life, this is life and death. Because of poor infrastructure, 11 people died in the flooding of Beitel Creek on June 12th.
Our tax dollars used for private development. Public dollars should be invested into our neighborhoods and the wellbeing of our families of Bexar County and San Antonio. Enough is enough.
The petition:
We, the undersigned voters of San Antonio and/or Bexar County, pledge to vote AGAINST the use of any public funds for the Downtown Sports and Entertainment District (or, Project Marvel), the City of San Antonio & Bexar County's $4.5 Billion plan to build hotels, convention centers, and an arena
We call FOR the investment of public funds into our local neighborhood infrastructure, such as flooding prevention, streets, sidewalks, lighting, parks, libraries, community centers, after-school programs, and neighborhood safety.
