COPS/Metro consists of dues-paying community institutions, which have included: religious congregations of different faiths, schools, civic associations, labor/professional organizations, and non-profits.
Leaders from these institutions bring their issues to one another to determine the agenda of the organization.
This process builds relationships of trust across the racial, faith, economic and geographic boundaries that divide our city.
Our Leaders
COPS/Metro institutional leaders come from all walks of life, different cultural and faith backgrounds.
Through organizing, people with different life experiences become energized as they meet, share experiences, and stand together on the issues that matter to each other.
What I realized was, this was the answer to my prayers. Retirement? What next, Lord? Show me!
Training was an opportunity to understand what it was to be a grassroots, broad-based organizer... to represent the church that I love, the church that loves me back. I was going to be able to serve."
